So, if you’re reading this in a feed reader you ought stop by and read at the site. I’ve moved things about and changed all the colors and such like. And with that I’ll intro Coldsnap.

Where does it all come from?

I have no idea to be honest. I just looked at the site one day and felt like changing it. It’s what I do. I can’t emphasize enough how this is really just my hobby, pushing pixels. Or, in the case of Coldsnap, pushing ems. I don’t believe there’s a single size declaration on the page that’s done in pixels. If you should find one lemme know. So, you ought be able to resize the text of the page to your heart’s content. I didn’t do that because of any great crusading liquid notion. I just did it cause I felt like it. It was remarkably simple.

Simple? Why yes, we do simple.

Yeah, this is a really cut down site now. I don’t think I could be more minimalist. Honest, I tried. This is as uncomplicated as I could make it. Of course, I did go a little nutty with sIFR but there had to be some texture somewhere. Of course, if you’re not seeing pretty bits of Avenir and Palatino then my mastery of sIFR is severely lacking. Sometimes it loads, sometimes it doesn’t. I’m baffled.

Done? When am I ever done?

Now, what do you do if you hate this design? I mean.. really.. it’s all dark and shady and stuff. Symphony was all bright and happy with.. you know.. lines and things. Not to worry. One of the beauties of Expression Engine is that you can have multiple themes all running at once. Hmm… Well, with an attitude like that.. I didn’t design Coldsnap for comments. I could toss them in. Maybe. I haven’t been too happy with the spam defenses I’ve had of late. Oh, also gone in this design is the splitting of posts into any semblance of organization. Long, short, whatever. One post on the front page, the rest are on the archives page. Yes, I know there probably some usability issues or some “this just don’t make no damn sense” issues. I’ll tackle them later when I’m so motivated.

In the mean time my focus for today is getting Tailwind completed for Pocketprose. Many things at once. Cause, that’s how I like to do things.
