TextWrangler
Amidst all the hub-bub at Macworld might have been lost the news that Bare Bones released TextWrangler as a free app and upgraded it to version 2.0. Previously TextWrangler was $49. TextWrangler is considered to be something of a lesser version of BBedit. In many ways it is. I, however, can’t tell you what they are. Sure, TextWrangler doesn’t include the HTML editing features of BBedit but it works quite well for HTML editing all the same. I, for one, am quite happy with it.
All I’ve ever required of a text editor is syntax highlighting and the ability to open files over a network, ala SFTP. TextWrangler does that. So, I’m happy. Consider this the endorsement.
